Dear Members of the Buffalo State University Community,

As we reflect on the painful memory of October 7, 2023, you may be experiencing a wide range of emotions. I want to make sure you know you are supported here at Buffalo State University. At the conclusion of this message, you will find some of the options available to support you.

Let us stand against oppression and violence in all forms, and strive for a world where human rights are a reality for all. There is no room for hate, antisemitism, or any form of discrimination, harassment, or violence.

In these trying times, Buffalo State University is committed to maintaining a climate of civility, promoting constructive conversation, and maintaining safe spaces for our campus community.

We strongly support the right to free speech here at Buffalo State as outlined in our Free Speech on Campus policy. Our goal is that any demonstrations are conducted in a safe, respectful, and constructive manner. Guidelines for using Buffalo State facilities as a public forum can be found in the Administrative Policy Library.

To be clear, all forms of discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated at Buffalo State. We are committed to the welfare of our campus community.
