Screening: 'The Blackness Project' Help Rewrite The Racial Narrative

6:00 p.m. 11:57 p.m. Event has no end time
6:00 p.m. | Burchfield Penney Art Center at Buffalo State

The Burchfield Penney's second screening of the Blackness Project, created by award-winning film producer Korey Green who seeks to rewrite America's racial narrative. The film is a feature-length educational documentary about culture and race from the African American perspective.

Although inspired from conversations about the Whiteness Project, a documentary in which participants discuss race and the perceived loss of white privilege, the Blackness Project's goal is to educate, elevate, and engage Americans in an effort to bridge the racial divide in our country by creating a meaningful dialogue on race.

  • PRIOR REPORTS: 2016 – Buffalo listed as a top 10 segregated city.
  • THE REALITY: A city facing the past. A city focused on the future.
  • BUFFALO is TALKING: There are diverse conversations about race happening in BUFFALO!

The event starts with a screening, and evolves into a conversation with a panel of community leaders.
