Public Safety and the Trump Administration

As part of Dr. Scott Phillips CRJ 606 course, this teach-in will focus on key components of the proposed Restoring Community Safety Act, which focuses on reducing drug and violent crimes, increases funding and training of local police departments, and increasing funding for federal law enforcement agencies which will better allow them to assist in the reduction of crime. Topics to be discussed in this session include "Sending in the Feds," President Trump's solution to Chicago's homicide rate, President Trump's statements about homicides in the greater Philadelphia area, stop and frisk, police reforms as a result of the appointment of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Sanctuary Cities, and any legislative proposals made prior to the event.
