Digital Music Ensemble presents Invisible Cities

7:30 p.m. 11:57 p.m. Event has no end time
7:30 p.m. | Ciminelli Recital Hall

The Digital Music Production program at Buffalo State College presents Invisible Cities, played by the Digital Music Ensemble. The program is centered around a collection of pieces by Buffalo-based oboist and DME composer-in-residence Megan Kyle. The concert features three works from Kyle's Invisible Cities series—inspired by the fictitious locales in Italo Calvino's novel of the same title—including two world premieres of pieces written specifically for the DME. The evening is rounded out with David Behrman's experimental piano investigation, Wave Train, and a new vocal work by DME members Armauni Allen and Aristotle Copeland.

The Digital Music Ensemble is a performing group that uniquely explores music technology and creativity. The ensemble provides students with the opportunity to play state-of-the art and vintage electronic music instruments. The repertoire of the ensemble is wide in its scope, from early analog electronic works to avant-garde pieces, covering a variety of styles and approaches to exploring music and sound.
