In partnership with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, SUNY Buffalo State presents the 2014 Day of Percussion, featuring workshops, masterclasses, and culminating in a performance of Jennifer Higdon’s Percussion Concerto by Colin Currie and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Evening Events (included in registration fee) at Kleinhans Music Hall, 3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo, NY
7:00 p.m. Percussion Ensemble Showcase
8:00 p.m. BPO performance with Colin Currie

Scheduled to appear:

  • Colin Currie, World-renown percussion soloist
  • Matthew Bassett, Principal Timpani, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra
  • Jan Williams, Legendary percussionist and composer
  • Wendell Rivera, Latin jazz percussionist

Raffle drawings for free percussion equipment will be held throughout the day.

Admission: $25    Student admission: $25    Faculty and Staff admission: $25

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. on the third floor or Rockwell Hall. The registration fee includes a ticket to the evening BPO concert.
