Powell is one of America’s leading voices in these early years of the twenty-first century. He has lectured and performed humanitarian and civil rights work in America, and internationally. As an award-winning writer, Powell is the author/editor of 11 books, including his latest, Barack Obama, Ronald Reagan, and The Ghost of Dr. King, a collection of blogs and essays that explore the politics and culture of America in the era of President Obama. Kevin’s writings have appeared in a range of publications, including Newsweek, the Washington Post,, Ebony, Essence, Esquire, Rolling Stone, the Huffington Post, and Vibe, where he worked for several years as a senior writer
