Alternative February Break: Community Efforts to Build an Inclusive Buffalo Renaissance

12:00 a.m. 12:00 a.m. End Time
All day |

After a challenging 50 years, Buffalo is resurging. However, not everyone in the city is reaping the benefits of increased economic development. Through service, pre-trip orientation meetings, and on-trip reflection activities, students will learn about systematic barriers that have been place in the community to benefit some, but not all residents of the city. Volunteers will be a part of the dialogue of social justice in our community and will get to know the amazing staff and organizations that work every day to make Buffalo a place where everyone can realize their potential. Service projects will include housing rehabilitation with 716 Ministries, homelessness outreach programming, community organizing projects with the Fruit Belt Coalition, and youth game night.
