Fine Arts Student Show
The work of 40 fine arts students is currently on view in Upton Hall’s Czurles-Nelson Gallery.

The Fine Arts Student Show features paintings, drawings, sculptures, and more selected by faculty members.

Generally, contributions from first-year and sophomore students begin as assignments, while work from juniors and seniors, who typically have found their artistic niches, come up with original ideas, said Philip Ogle, professor and chair of fine arts.

A scratchboard still life created by freshman Marshall Cancilla shows the range of media  used by Buffalo State students. “It’s nice to see our first-year students showing so much talent,” Ogle said.

A reception with the artists will be held February 7 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. outside the gallery. Ogle will present student art awards at that time. Free and open to the public. More information: (716) 878-6014.
