Posted: January 6, 2007
MIDDLETOWN, RI—Jackie Blanchard (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) scored twice and Buffalo State (4-6) overcame an early 2-0 deficit to defeat host Salve Regina (2-10), 5-4, tonight at the St. George’s School Ice Center.

Casey Bull (Lockport, NY/Lockport), Sam Simpson (Fairbanks, AK/West Valley) and Melissa Jeckovich (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) also scored for the Bengals. Meredith Larsen (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) made 28 saves.

Buffalo State, playing in its first game since Dec. 3, fell behind 2-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game, but roared back with four-straight goals, and never let the Seahawks even the score. Salve Regina outshot Buffalo State, 32-30.

The same two teams will face-off again at 2 p.m.
