The English Beat, which headlined the first WBNY sponsored show in April 1983, is considered one of the most popular and influential bands of the British ska movement. Still fronted by founding member Dave Wakeling, The English Beat is best known for hit songs such as “Tears of a Clown,” “Mirror in the Bathroom,” and “Save it for Later.”
