Theater Graduate Appears on 'Days of Our Lives'

Posted: March 20, 2014

LaToya Codner, a 2008 graduate of the SUNY Buffalo State Theater Department, appeared on two episodes of NBC’s Days of Our Lives. The episodes, which aired March 18 and 19, featured Codner in the role of Dr. Garcia.

A native of Troy, New York, Codner was interviewed on the NBC affiliate in Troy and was featured in articles in the Troy Record and the Albany Times-Union.

In June, Codner was invited to attend the 17th annual American Black Film Festival June in Miami Beach, Florida, where she competed as a finalist in the NBC-sponsored Star Project. Out of more than 300 original contestants and three female finalists, Codner won for her performance in two monologues from a stage play and a film.

As part of the win, she got to meet with NBC Universal casting agents in Los Angeles and New York City, and was given the opportunity to perform a walk-on role on Days of Our Lives.
