Buffalo State made short work of the Yellowjackets in the opener, scoring early and often en route to the 9-1 five-inning victory. Nicole Sabuda (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) earned the win on the mound, scattering six hits and allowing no earned runs. She also helped her cause at the plate, going 2 for 2 with two RBIs. The Yellowjackets then appeared to be in control, scoring four runs in the top of the 10th inning, but the Bengals rallied in the bottom of the inning to even the score at 10-10. Rochester plated another run in the 11th, but the Bengals battled back and finally won the game on a two-run double by freshman Jordan Banach (Cheektowaga/Maryvale), who finished the game 3 for 5 with three runs scored. Sirianni was 4 for 5 with a homerun and five RBIs. Lauren Mruk (Lancaster/Lancaster) was 4 for 6 with a double.
