In the opener, the Bengals cruised to the shutout victory on the arm of senior Kristen Scheffold (Lancaster/Lancaster), who tossed a one-hitter, only surrendering an infield single to the first batter of the game. Nadine Sirianni (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) paced the offense, going 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Laurie Hutten (Tonawanda/Kenmore West) was 2 for 5, and Lauren Mruk (Lancaster/Lancaster) went 1 for 2 with an RBI.
The Bengals' bats stayed hot in the nightcap, as Buffalo State scored 13 runs on 11 hits in just five innings. Sirianni led the charge again, going 3 for 4 with four RBIs. Hutten was 2 for 3 with three runs scored and Heidi Rammacher (Angola/Lakeshore) was 2 for 4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs.
