Offensive lineman Deryck Wrazen (Lakewood/Southwestern), wide receiver Jonathan Allen (Fayetteville/Fayetteville-Manlius), tight end Tom Cocker (Lakewood/Southwestern) and safety Michael Haynes (Cheektowaga/Cleveland Hill) all earned First Team designation.
Wrazen, a senior business major, anchored a line that helped the Bengals average 386.8 yards-per-game of total offense. A team captain, Wrazen earned Second Team honors in 2004.
Allen, a junior business major, earned First Team honors for the second consecutive season. He led the Bengals with 47 catches for 617 yards and scored four touchdowns.
Cocker, a senior criminal justice major, was a dominating blocker and developed into a dangerous receiver with 15 catches for 243 yards and a score.
Haynes, a senior secondary English education major, led the conference with seven interceptions. A team captain, he also had 43 tackles, including 28 solo stops.
Senior quarterback Mike Mikolaichik (Hilton/Hilton) was named to the Second Team after earning Honorable Mention status last year. The childhood education major set a school record for passing attempts in a year, going 166 for 328 for 2,122 yards and 14 scores. He also had four rushing touchdowns.
Senior wide receiver Jeff Shostak (Smethport, PA/Smethport) and sophomore running back James Perkins (Troy/Troy) received Honorable Mention distinction. Shostak, a biology major, was a big play threat for the Bengals, with 38 catches for 515 yards and five touchdowns. Perkins, who earned Second Team honors last season, gained 697 yards on 167 carries and scored eight touchdowns.
Buffalo State finished 3-6 in its final year as a member of the ACFC. The Bengals will join the New Jersey Athletic Conference next season.
