In the News: Television and Film Arts Student Screens TV Pilot

Posted: December 12, 2018

Buffalo State senior Dustan Whitcomb was recently featured in an article in the Olean Times Herald titled “Salamanca grad’s Buff State TV project to be screened.”

For Whitcomb, the production of the TV pilot, titled “Troop 513,” was his senior project in the Television and Film Arts program. The story, a comedy, centers around a renegade boy scout troop as they try to stay together.

“We’re very excited about it, but it has been very stressful,” Whitcomb told the Times Herald in November. “I think I’ve learned more over the past month or two than I had in the previous four years.”

Whitcomb said it was the “total application” of what he’s learned at Buffalo State.

The pilot was shown on campus, as well as at the Amherst Theatre downtown.
