Neumann Tops Women's Hockey in Overtime

BUFFALO, NY--Tiffany Baker scored 1:42 into overtime to give visiting Neumann (2-4-1/1-2-0) a 2-1 victory over Buffalo State (3-6-1/0-3-0) today in an ECAC West battle at the Ice Arena.

Both regulation goals came in the second period, with Neumann's Vicki Scott striking first just 37 seconds into the frame. Buffalo State got the equalizer when Mallory Nutting (Gardiner, ME/Gardiner Area) one-timed a shot past the Knights' goaltender midway through the period.

Neumann scored on its first shot of the overtime to clinch the victory. The Knights outshot Buffalo State 30-29, as both the Bengals' Shannon Anesetti (Cannonsburg, PA/Caron-McMillan) and Neumann's Lauren Voran made 28 saves.

Buffalo State and Neumann will face off again tomorrow at the Ice Arena a 1 p.m.
