BUFFALO, NY--Three Buffalo State (4-8-2) players registered a goal and an assist as the Bengals completed the weekend sweep of Lebanon Valley (1-11), defeating the Flying Dutchmen, 3-2, in a non-conference game today at the Ice Arena.

D’Arcy Thomas (Gatineau, PQ/Philemon Wright), Kerry Barchan (Oakville, ON/Queen Elizabeth Park) and Nick Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) all finished with two points. Connor King (Brentwood, TN/Brentwood) and Nick Lynch (Depew, NY/St. Joe’s) each chipped in an assist.

Buffalo State opened the scoring midway through the first period on a power play goal by Thomas and added a second goal when Barchan scored with the man advantage late in the period to give the Bengals a two-goal lead. The two teams traded goals in the second frame, including the game winner by Petriello. The Flying Dutchmen attempted a late rally, scoring at the 18:32 mark of the third stanza but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Buffalo State held a 33-20 advantage in shots with Kyle Gunn-Taylor (W. Seneca, NY/Orchard Park) making 18 saves for Buffalo State.

Buffalo State will break for the holidays and will return to action on Jan. 4 when the Bengals travel to Morrisville for a 7 p.m. game.
