UTICA, NY—Buffalo State (9-9/4-6) erased an 18-point halftime deficit only to relinquish its own lead, as it suffered its fifth-consecutive loss tonight, dropping an 84-80 decision in a conference game at SUNYIT (11-7/5-4).

Dion Mozelle (Rego Park/Xaverian) led Buffalo State with 28 points and had eight rebounds. Ishmael Skylark (Seaside, CA/Seaside) added 16 points, and John Lawal (Uniondale/Hempstead) had 11 points and nine rebounds.

The Wildcats raced to a 49-31 halftime lead, shooting 65-percent in the opening 20 minutes. Buffalo State clawed away in the second half, battling all the way back and took its first lead of the game at 72-71 with 4:50 remaining. SUNYIT responded, however, and escaped with the four-point victory.
