Posted: December 5, 2003
Buffalo State football players Michael Holbok (Buffalo/St. Joe's) and Marc Hoppy (Depew/Depew) were both recognized by Don Hansen's Weekly Football Gazette as All-East Region selections.

Holbok, a junior defensive end, was selected to the Second Team and is now on the national ballot used to choose the 2003 All-America Team. He led the nation with 28 tackles for losses and finished tied for ninth in the nation in sacks-per-game, averaging 1.2. Holbok finished the season with 58 tackles including 32 solo stops.

Hoppy, a senior wide receiver, was named to the Third Team after his record setting final season. He set a new school standard for catches in a season with 62 for 717 yards. Hoppy also set a Bengal record for catches in a game with 12 in the team's upset victory over No. 17 Washington and Jefferson in the final week of the season.
