Gwynedd-Mercy jumped out to a 55-41 halftime lead, and held on for the eight-point win. Lemeire Talley (Blackwood, NJ/Highland) led the Griffins with 22 points. Matt Johnson (Philadelphia, PA/Strawberry Mansion) added 16 points. Tournament MVP Tom Keenan (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) had 14 points and 13 rebounds off the bench. Dave Smith (Cape May, NJ/Middle Twp.) added 11 points and nine boards, and Haven Wroten (Philadelphia, PA/Prep Charter) had 10 points. Dion Mozelle (Rego Park, NY/Xaverian) led the Bengals with 21 points and nine rebounds. Jamar Gray (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) added 19 points and eight assists. Antonio Samedi (St. Albans, NY/Queens Vocational) and Neal Wilkins (Middletown, NY/Middletown) scored 12 and 10 respectively.
In the consolation game, UT Dallas trailed by as many as six points midway through the first half, but rebounded to take a 41-30 lead at the intermission. The Comets extended their lead to 22 in the second period and coasted to the win. Scott Rodgers (The Woodlands, TX/Woodlands) led Dallas with 19 points. Ernie Lowery (Spring, TX/Klein Collins) added 15 points, and Brandon Greene (Houston, TX/Westbury Christian) added 11 and seven assists. Jimmy Witten (Houston, TX/Clear Lake) grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. Derek Tapscott (Warrenton, VA/Fauquier) led D’Youville with 16 points, and Charles Walker (Buffalo, NY/NCCC) had 14. Marvin Butler (Washington, DC/New School for Enterprise) added seven points and 10 rebounds.
