Freshmen Pace Women's Soccer to Season-Opening Win

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY--Freshman Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) scored twice in her collegiate debut to lead Buffalo State (1-0) to a 3-2 season-opening victory over Westfield tonight in the Skidmore Invitational.

Kiliszek score the first two goals of the game for the Bengals, and fellow freshman Ashley Harbison (Ransomville/Lew-Port) knocked in a rebound for the game-winner with just 27 seconds left in regulation. Harbison connected after the ball struck the post on a shot by Madeline Morosey (N. Collins/N. Collins).

Katie Melsert (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills) made nine saves for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will play tourney host Skidmore tomorrow at 5 p.m.
