Four-time Emmy-winning producer and broadcast journalism alumna Marcia Mulé, '81, will address #TimesUp and gender/minority issues in Hollywood on Monday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the Jacqueline Vito LoRusso Alumni and Visitor Center. Her talk, “The Real Reality,” is free and open to the public and is the first lecture of the Television and Film Arts (TFA) Visiting Artist Series.

Mulé has worked in television production for over three decades. She was co-owner of Picture This Television, which developed the concept for Kathy Griffin: Life on the D List in 2006. Mulé served as executive producer on the series for three seasons. During her 11 years at Picture This, Mulé contributed to programming for Bravo, Lifetime, Oxygen, MTV, HGTV, Food Network, WeTV, Logo, PBS, and Buena Vista. Mulé also served as vice president of programming for True Entertainment, where she oversaw production of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Mulé is currently president of her own consulting firm, Marcia Mulé Productions Inc., through which she provides production and development guidance small and mid-sized production companies. She is currently the supervising story producer on the reality tv program Love & Hip Hop Miami for VH1.

“As a seasoned producer, she has a unique vantage point from which to discuss the current state and struggles for gender and minority equality in the industry,” said Aaron Daniel Annas, assistant professor of communication and director of the Television Film Arts Program.

After the talk, faculty members from the Communication, English, and Theater departments will join Mulé for a panel discussion on diversity and equality their respective fields. The panel discussion will be moderated by Meg Knowles, associate professor of communication, and include a Q&A with the audience.
