Posted: December 12, 2001
Neighborhoods and Other Places, an interactive exhibition featuring paintings, drawings, and photographs by artists who use the area in which they live or work as their subject, will be on view at the Joy Gallery at New Mt. Ararat Temple of Prayer, 971 Jefferson Avenue, beginning December 17. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m.

The exhibition includes artwork from the Burchfield-Penney Art Center's collection by artists including David Pratt, James Vullo, and William West. There is also a selection of photographs by Ken Barney, Lenore Bethel, Dick Byrnes, and Ken Morgan, artists associated with the Locust Street Neighborhood Art Classes. Images from the exhibition are available by request.

The Burchfield-Penney maintains the Joy Gallery as a satellite exhibition space at New Mt. Ararat. Funding comes from the Joy Family Foundation.
