Posted: October 1, 2007
Buffalo State's Jermaine Rose (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Football Player of the Week after helping the Bengals celebrate homecoming with a convincing 35-16 victory over Kean University on Saturday.

The sophomore linebacker led the Bengals' defense with a season-high 14 tackles, including a half-sack. Rose, a health and wellness major, also had an interception that he returned 70 yards to the Cougars 10-yard line to set up a touchdown on the ensuing play.

Rose is second on the team with 41 tackles and two interception is four games.

Buffalo State will play at Montclair State this Saturday at 1 p.m.
