Buffalo State Places 43 on SUNYAC All-Academic Team; 17 on Commissioner's List

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its Commissioner's List and All-Academic Team for the Fall 2006 semester, and 43 Buffalo State student-athletes have been recognized for their work in the classroom, including 17 on the Commissioner's List.

To qualify for the All-Academic Team, a student must be a varsity athlete for the entire season and must have earned at least a 3.3 grade point average for the Fall semester. To be eligible for the Commissioner's List, a student must be a varsity athlete for the entire season and must have maintained a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average for at least three semesters.

The following Buffalo State student-athletes appeared on both the All-Academic Team and the Commissioner's List: Jonathan Amidon (Cheektowaga) – Football/Secondary Ed.; Keri Bumgardner (Babylon) – Volleyball/Elementary Ed.; Scott Forster (East Otto) – Football/Criminal Justice; Clint Holcomb (Victory) – Soccer/Applied Economics; Justin Huebbers (Rochester) – Football/Secondary Ed.; Margaret Hughes (Elmira) – Cross Country/Health & Wellness; Nick Jakubowski (Lancaster) – Football/Criminal Justice; Matt Ketchum (Churchville) – Soccer/Childhood Ed.; Tom LaPann (Glens Falls) – Football/Art Ed.; Matthew Martins (Cortland) – Football/Secondary Ed.; Russ Nixon (Niagara Falls) – Football/Exceptional Ed.; Dan Schlotterbeck (West Seneca) – Football/Secondary Ed.; Matt Tarasek (Buffalo) – Football/Chemistry; Kristy Tartaglia (Liverpool) – Soccer/Art Ed. and Jen Vacanti (Niagara Falls) – Cross Country/Design.
