An Introduction and General Overview of Hierarchical Linear Modeling

12:00 p.m. 1:30 p.m. End Time
12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. | E. H. Butler Library 181B

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce faculty and staff to hierarchical linear modeling (HLM). It is designed to present a broad and general overview for faculty who have limited familiarity with the concept. During the workshop faculty will be presented with the conceptual background, relevance, and uses of HLM as a statistical model for research across a variety of fields and disciplines, with particular attention paid to educational research. Faculty will also have the opportunity to review and discuss how to interpret results reported in empirical studies that utilize HLM. A review of basic linear regression concepts will be included as a primer to understanding HLM. Presented by Gina Pannozzo and Reva Fish.
