Burchfield enjoyed painting weather events and seasonal changes in his private world as both literal and metaphorical images. This exhibition focuses on his early works done in Salem, Ohio. Additional watercolor and gouache paintings from the collection will illustrate all the seasons, honoring an early chapter in Burchfield’s 1964 desire to have “a circular museum, large enough to house…four season transitions…”
General admission to the Burchfield Penney is free for Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff.
